ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP® UFC 75 CHAMPION V CHAMPIONposted by Kathleen Holland on July 13, 2007, in MMA Press Release, , in Mixed Martial ArtsMICHAEL “THE COUNT” BISPING vs MATT “THE HAMMER” HAMILL Tickets On Sale Now! The Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) (UFC(R) organisation has confirmed another exciting fight for UFC 75 Champion v Champion – taking place live from the O2 Arena, London, on September 8. In a light heavyweight bout England’s own Michael “the Count” Bisping will match his unbeaten record against that of bitter rival Matt “the Hammer” Hamill in a grudge match one year in the making. Tickets for UFC 75 are available online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk starting at £25. Bisping, 13-0, and Hamill, 5-0, were house and team-mates on the third season of the UFC’s smash hit reality TV series ‘The Ultimate Fighter(R)’, where 16 up-and-coming mixed martial artists are split into two teams and compete in an elimination tournament for a six-figure UFC contract. The pair should have met in The Ultimate Fighter(R) semi-final but, ironically, Ohio born Hamill was forced out of the competition when he was injured during a training session with Bisping. Now, finally, Bisping and Hamill will throw down at UFC 75. UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik said: “This is a fight fans would and should have seen on The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 last summer if not for Hamill’s arm injury. Now, finally, the fight will take place in front of thousands in London.” Zelaznik added: “For Hamill, this is a chance to back up everything he has been saying about what he would have done if he’d have gotten the chance to fight Bisping last year; and for Bisping it is a chance to underline that he is the true light heavyweight Ultimate Fighter from season 3 and defeat the man who has been calling him out for over a year.” UFC 75 Champion v Champion is a first for the sport of mixed martial arts. For the first time in MMA history, a reigning UFC champion will collide a PRIDE Fighting Champion to see who is the No.1 fighter in the 205lbs (14stone 9lbs) division as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson takes on Dan “Hollywood” Henderson in a super-fight. UFC 75 Champion v Champion will be screened live in the UK on pay-per-view (Sky channel 481) at 8:00pm BST on Saturday, September 8, available via remote control through Sky Box Office or by calling 08708 500 005.
