In an exciting Heavyweight Championship bout, Sam Peter defeated Jameel McCline by unanimous decision Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Peter had things under control through the first and most of the second round until McCline knocked Peter down for the first time in his career. McCline came back in the third and again had Peter on the canvas two more times during the round.

Peter managed to hang on and stay in the fight and then began to wear McCline down with body shots.

The judges scored the bout 113-112, 115-111, 115-110.
