Antonio Tarver to Fight “?” Bobby Gunn Wants You!

Antonio Tarver has a fight scheduled for December 1, but does he have an opponent? First we hear talk that Tarver was interested in fighting Bobby Gunn. So when his opponent was announced, it was Danny Green, then George Blades, then Danny Green again, and now who is it? Danny Green is scheduled to fight Stipe Drews on December 16 for the WBA Light Heavyweight Championship.

So, will Tarver still fight on December 1? If so, who will he fight? Bobby Gunn has made it very clear that he would like a shot at Tarver, and is willing to fight him on his terms for 50% of the amount he had agreed to pay Danny Green. “I called up Joe DeGuardia and I told him that I don’t think that Danny Green is a good fight for Antonio Tarver right now because Antonio Tarver didn’t really show me a lot when he fought Elvir Muriqi,” said Gunn. “I told them this, and it is a figure of speech, if you are paying Danny Green $100 I said I’ll take $50. You can’t get any clearer than that, I am a respectable guy to fight him, I am a former champion, I had one of the belts in the Cruiserweight division and I have a good record. It’s not complicated.”

With the fight scheduled for less than one month away, can we expect to see a Tarver fight on the scheduled December 1? A worthy and hungry opponent in Bobby Gunn is ready, willing and able to take on Antonio Tarver.
