STAR BOXING ADDS MORE SPICE TO AN ALREADY SIZZLING FIGHT CARD FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9posted by Kathleen Holland on November 6, 2007, in Press ReleaseCourtesy of Star Boxing New York-Monday, November 5, 2007-Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing, today unveiled the undercard for their popular sixth installment of PUNCHIN at the PARADISE, from The Utopia Paradise Theater in the Bronx and it's hotter than Tabasco! America's number one Hispanic fight network TELEFUTURA will broadcast the event live. As always Star Boxing prides itself on showcasing local New York talent and providing a platform for fighters making their pro-debuts. We have stacked this card with some truly rising stars. The undercard features two heavyweight bouts; Nagy Aguilar (3-0-2KO's) from Newburg, NY, will face off against Elfair McKnight (2-6-2) of Long Island, NY, in a six rounder. Vaughn Parham (2-1-2KO's) from Bronx, NY, takes on Doug Jewell (0-1) hailing from Detroit, MI, scheduled for four rounds. Puerto Rican prospect Jonas “ El Tortuga” Hernandez (7-1-2KO's) and Leivi Brea (16-5 8KO's) hailing from the Dominican Republic will go at it in a six round featherweight bout. Long Island's Mike Ruiz (4-2-3KO's) will take on Henry White (2-1 2KO's) of Cleveland, scheduled for six rounds of welterweight action. Decorated amateur Jorge Diaz. from Jersey City, NJ, makes his professional debut taking on Anolan Rigal (1-1-1KO) from Utica, NY, in a scheduled four round bantamweight contest. Joseph Llovet (1-0 1KO) from Bayshore, NY, takes on Bobby Campbell (2-4-2) of Copiague, NY, in a scheduled four lightweight bout. The main event features a sensational ten round Jr. lightweight bout between WBC CABOFE Champion Francisco “El Ahogado” Lorenzo (29-4-14KO's) of the Dominican Republic and the WBC's 6th ranked Guadalupe “Bronco” Rosales (25-1-15KO's) of Mexico. The co-main event features hard-hitting knockout sensation, 2004 Olympian Argenis Mendez (8-0 6KO's) of the Dominican Republic. Argenis, known to take out his opponent with crisp body-head-hook combinations will appear in an eight round bout. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the first fight goes on at 7:30 PM.
