Twin brothers Graham and Gavin Keating, both from the St Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy (OBA) Club in Dublin, will create Irish amateur boxing history next Friday night when they meet each other to contest a National Intermediate featherweight title at the National Stadium in Dublin.

St Saviours OBA Secretary, Martin Power confirmed today that following a meeting of the clubs officials last night it was decided to give the bout the green light.

The nineteen year old twins both recorded impressive 57Kg semi final victories last weekend with Gavin - the reigning U/21 Irish champion - stopping Paul Nolan from the Grangecon club in the fourth round.

And Graham followed that up with an 8-3 victory over Austin Sinclair (Cairn Lodge) to ensure that the St Saviours OBA club will be claiming at least one title from the Championships.

Martin Power said: "Gavin and Graham will box for the 57Kg National Intermediate title on Friday night. They are two fantastic boxers that are very dedicated to their sport and the only thing I will predict is that our club will be taking home at least one title."

"We have young Glen Murray in the bantamweight final and we would like to wish all our boxers the very best of luck on Friday."

This isn't the first time that brothers have been pencilled in to meet in a major Irish amateur boxing final. However, it is the first time that twin brothers have been drawn in a national decider.

Graham will box out of the red corner on Friday while Gavin will be boxing out of the blue.

Boxing begins at 7.30pm on Friday December 7th, The weigh-in will be held between 8am and 9am and 12 noon and 1pm on Friday.
