Willy Chapman to Meet Carlos Barnett Friday

LAS VEGAS – “Wreckless” Willy Chapman (21-28-4) will meet Carlos “Boom” Barnett (10-1-0) for the IBA Heavyweight Championship Continental Belt on Friday January 11 at the Orleans Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Crown Boxing, Inc. has put together a fight card that promises to be an exciting night of professional boxing. Also on the card is former UNLV basketball star, Kaspars Kambala will be making his pro debut against Alvaro Morales (1-0-2) in a heavyweight bout.

A women’s match will feature Lightweight Layla “Amazing” McCarter (27-13-5) taking on Cindy “Checkmate” Serrano (15-1-1).

Flyweight Cesar Grajeda (4-0-0) and Daniel Quevedo (6-7-2) will meet for a second time. Grajeda defeated Quevedo by unanimous decision in a four round lightweight bout on May 25 2007 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino.

Brian Battease (1-0-0) will take on Tomas Bernal (3-4-2) in a featherweight bout and Cruiserweights DeMark Scott (1-1-0) will face off against Calvin Rooks (1-1-0) for a rematch. Scott was defeated by Rooks on November 11, 2007 by unanimous decision at the Orleans Hotel and Casino.

Doors open at 6:00 P.M. and the first bout will begin at 7:00 P.M. Tickets are on sale at the Orleans Box Office and are priced at a very reasonable $50.00 for ringside and $25 for reserved seating. For ticket information, contact the Orleans Box Office at (702) 365-7075.

The weigh-in will take place on Thursday January 10 in the Mardi Gras Ballroom at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 5:00 P.M. and is open to the public.
