Jermain Taylor Faces Biggest Fight of His Career

Former Middleweight Champion, Jermain Taylor will face the current Middleweight champion, Kelly Pavlik in the biggest fight of his career on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Taylor, who lost to Pavlik in his last bout on September 29 in Atlantic City is ready to avenge his only loss and show the world that he is the “best” middleweight.

His motivation and dedication to this fight is incredible and he is in probably the best shape of his life. His training camp has been one of the best, if not the best, of his career and he has focused on his endurance and correcting some bad habits that ultimately led to his loss to Pavlik.

I had the privilege of working in Taylor’s camp, planning and preparing his meals. Of course the main goal was to keep Jermain strong, while dropping the necessary pounds to make the target weight of 166. The fighters weighed in today and both fighters achieved a weight of 164.

The fight, entitled “The Epic Battle Continues” is a highly anticipated fight and both fighters are prepared and ready to step into the ring. Pavlik, who knocked Taylor out in the 7th round of the first installment proved his worthiness as a world class boxer by overcoming a second round knockdown that would have done most fighters in. Pavlik recovered and came back in the third round as if nothing had happened. Taylor wore himself out with wild flailing punches that took away his energy and led to his loss.

Promoted by Top Rank in association with Dibella Entertainment, the fight will air live on HBO PPV beginning at 10:00 P.M. ET for a cost of $49.95. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Box Office. Ticket prices range from $100 to $600.
