Marquez vs. Pacquiao II – Will Take Care of “Unfinished Business”

The long awaited rematch between Juan Manuel Marquez (48-3-1, 35 KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (45-3-2, 35 KOs) will take place Saturday, March 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Events Center in Las Vegas.

The very exciting first battle took place on May 8, 2004 in Las Vegas. Pacquiao came out with a vengence scoring three knockdowns in the first round. Marquez, whose nose was severely injured as a result, was a determined warrior and rebounded giving Pacquiao a fight that would not be forgotten. With the momentum going back and forth between the fighters, the bout was ruled a draw and nearly four years later, it is now time to take care of some “Unfinished Business”.

Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, Inc., in association with Romanza Boxing Productions and MP Promotions, the bout will be aired live on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m.PT. Sponsors include Tecate, Rock Star Energy Drink and Southwest Airlines.

Also fighting on the card will be WBO featherweight champion, Steven Luevano (34-1, 15 KOs) of La Puente, California, defending his title against number one contender, Terdsak Jandaeng (29-2, 19) from Thailand. NABO Bantamweight champion, Abner Mares (15-0, 9 KOs) will defend his title against Diosdado Gabi (30-3-1, 22 KOs) and WBC lightweight champ, David Diaz 33-1-1, 17 KOs) will meet Ramon Montano (15-4-2, 1 KO)

The fight is expected to be a sell out, but at the current time a few tickets remain and may be purchased at the Mandalay Bay Box Office. The fight can also be purchased from HBO Pay-Per-View for a suggested retail price of $49.95. Sponsor “Tecate” is offering a $20 Pay-Per-View Rebate in limited areas with a purchase of an 18 pack of “Tecate” Mexican Cerveza.
