What exactly is hot? According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Hot is defined as, " having a relatively high temperature." which will definitely happen when feasting your eyes on any or all of these boxers who have made my list. I can guarantee they will spike your body temperature a few degrees and it's all good. Each one on this list can radiate a sensation of heat, burning, and scolding whether it be inside or outside of the squared circle.
Another definition of the word Hot -more commonly used today is "sexy" and each person on this list is capable of giving us a "hot flash" now and again. The naysayers and critics will say what they want but yes, there are definitively many Hot boxers who are actively fighting today as well as in the past. Many of today's publications have "sexy" lists. People, Maxim, Sport's Illustrated to name a few so why should the most physical sport of all not have one also. I believe they should.
Of course, a boxer's looks aren't a top priority in their over-all boxing ability but for the fans it does make the pre-fight hoopla that much more enjoyable to view such exquisite eye candy. I can hear some of you screaming," Looks have no place in boxing this isn't a beauty pageant." I do respect your opinions on this subject. I am not trying to change your views. I am just reminding you there will always be more than one opinion on any given subject. Here is my take on this matter:
Boxing is a solitary sport. It's not about team effort. It is about 2 men or women in a ring-looking to win. They are vulnerable, they are on stage providing us with an enjoyable performance while being exposed for all to see. You can not but admire all that hard work and dedication that goes into developing their physical bodies as well as their strength, speed, and endurance in the ring. The two go together, side by side. If we admire them for being Hot or Sexy I don't consider it a crime at all. It is a genuine, realistic and appropriate compliment and should be taken as such. Most boxers crave notoriety and attention so being seen as a prime example of Hotness isn't such a bad thing. ( Not in my book anyway.)
You may agree or disagree with this list because everyone has their own " attraction meter" but these 50 boxers ( and some honorable mentions within the boxing community) have left their mark professionally as well as physically on boxing and have now also taken their rightful place on my Boxing's Hot 50 list. Enjoy!
