Kendall Holt scored an amazing KO over the defending champion, Ricardo Torres to claim the WBO World Super Lightweight Championship. The fight started fast and furious with Torres coming out strong and knocking Holt down twice in the first round before Holt retaliated with a right that knocked Torres cold at 1:01 of the very first round in front of a crowd of 3226 at the Theatre for the Performing Arts at the Planet Hollywood. Promoted by Top Rank, the bout was televised live on a special edition of “ShoBox: The New Generation”.

After the fight, Holt came over to Torres and thanked him for the opportunity of the rematch. He said that Torres didn’t have to come to fight him and was very appreciative.
Torres beat Holt in September 2007 in a controversial stoppage in Columbia.
