Clottey Beats Judah

Josh Clottey beat Zab Judah tonight via decision as the fight was stopped due to a headbutt with Clottey ahead on points.

Rigorously training in Las Vegas and saying he was "refocused" Judah put up a hell of a fight against a relentless hardhitting foe but just missed the boat as Clottey was just too good. It was a fight that may have seen the end of Zab's career at least at a high level anyway.

Judah fought like he knew it was tonight of never for him. Clottey possessed a fine sense of purpose but was waiting too long and his corner was frantic as the fight wore on and it seemed that Judah may have enough to pull it off. However in round nine Clottey landed a prime punch a terrific left uppercut that cut Zab's eye and ended the fight or so it seemed. However referee Robert Byrd missed it and called it a head butt so it went to the scorecards where Clottey got a close decision. For Clottey the win puts him in the spotlight for another title shot. For Judah its another almost win but it may very well be his last bite at the big apple.
